Top Finalists Announced for East of England’s Prestigious Outdoor Hospitality Awards

In a celebration of outstanding outdoor hospitality, the East of England Tourism Awards 2023-2024 have announced their finalists for the Camping, Glamping, and Holiday Park of the Year category according to an article by The Comet. This award recognizes destinations that not only offer memorable guest experiences but also excel in every facet of their operation.

Albion Nights, a unique eco-retreat on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, has made a significant impact with its luxury, off-grid cabin set in a picturesque wildflower meadow. Founded by Helen McGrath-Doherty, the cabin is a testament to sustainable tourism, built using reclaimed and recycled materials.

Despite opening delays due to the pandemic, Albion Nights quickly became a sought-after destination, achieving near-full occupancy and featuring in major publications and television.

Applewood Countryside Park in Banham, Norfolk, a family-run campsite since 1990, continues to charm guests with its blend of modern amenities and natural beauty.

The Goymour family has maintained the park’s welcoming atmosphere, offering a variety of facilities including a ‘wild camping‘ area and an adjoining events venue. The judges highlighted the campsite’s peaceful environment and the team’s friendly demeanor, contributing to its homely appeal.

Deepdale Camping & Rooms, located near King’s Lynn, Norfolk, offers a diverse range of high-quality camping pitches and accommodations. With a history spanning over two decades and a comprehensive rebuild in 2016, the site has evolved into a premier destination for campers and travelers. The judges were particularly impressed by the site’s commitment to customer care, comfortable accommodations, and well-equipped facilities.

The winner of this award will be revealed at the East of England Tourism Awards ceremony, set to take place at Snape Maltings, Suffolk, on February 15.

This event not only honors the best in the region’s tourism industry but also showcases the diverse and high-quality experiences available in the East of England’s outdoor hospitality sector.
