Harrison Holidays, a family-owned holiday park operator based in Preston, has added Crofthead Holiday Park in Ayrshire to its portfolio.
This marks the company’s tenth park and its first foray into Scotland, aligning with its strategy of growth and diversification across the UK.
Founded in 1974, Harrison Holidays has steadily expanded, acquiring several parks in recent years, including Cakes & Ale Holiday Park in Suffolk in 2023 and Rawcliffe Hall Holiday Park in Blackpool the year prior.
The latest addition comes as the company celebrates its 50th anniversary, a milestone underscored by its commitment to delivering family-oriented holiday experiences, as reported by Daily Record.
Crofthead Holiday Park spans 85 acres in Ayrshire, blending countryside charm with proximity to coastal attractions.
Located just two miles from a beach offering views of the Isle of Arran, the park includes 50 luxury lodges and static caravans, 25 touring pitches, and a range of amenities such as a coffee bar, adventure playground, and crazy golf.
The park also accommodates 650 holiday homes for those seeking year-round retreats.
William Harrison, Director at Harrison Holidays, emphasized the strategic importance of the acquisition, stating:
“Crofthead Holiday Park is in an incredible location that takes in Ayrshire’s stunning coastline and scenic countryside. Not only that, but its family focus is in keeping with the values of our own business, making this the perfect match.”
For industry professionals, Harrison Holidays’ consistent growth highlights a broader trend of consolidation and expansion within the holiday park sector.
Operators aiming to remain competitive may benefit from observing the company’s model, which combines strategic acquisitions with investments in amenities and customer experience.
The addition of Crofthead also reflects a growing interest in Scotland as a destination, potentially signaling opportunities for further development in the region.
Harrison Holidays’ integration of this park could offer insights into market dynamics, particularly in catering to both domestic and international visitors.
Harrison Holidays’ 50-year legacy and its nomination for the Lancashire Tourism Awards’ Family Business Award further underscore the company’s dedication to fostering family-centric experiences.
