Drummohr Camping and Glamping Site near Prestonpans, East Lothian, Scotland, earned two national accolades. The five-star Drummohr site was named the best in Scotland by Pitchup.com and the best campsite in the UK by Camping magazine within a span of less than six months.
Located just eight miles from Edinburgh, Drummohr offers views of the Firth of Forth. Reviewers on Pitchup.com awarded the site full marks, praising its position and scenic vistas.
The site offers a range of accommodations including luxury lodges with hot tubs, themed glamping pods, en-suite bothies, family bothies, and pitches for touring and tents. Families can also enjoy a large playground.
According to an article published by East Lothian Courier, Angie Purves, site manager at Drummohr, expressed her delight at the recognition: “We always aim to go the extra mile for our guests and I think the fact that both awards came from either reviews or votes from the public reflects the hard work, passion and dedication of the entire team.”
The Pitchup.com awards, based on 171,000 verified guest reviews from 2023, evaluated sites on location, value for money, quality of accommodation, activities, and cleanliness. Highest-rated sites by category were crowned as winners.
The site is situated in the grounds of a former monastery. Purves emphasized their commitment to guest satisfaction. “We want to ensure that everyone who visits Drummohr gets the best experience possible, from the moment we receive their booking to the moment they leave our gates. We hope this encourages them to come back and stay with us and recommend us to family and friends.”
Drummohr is part of the WCF employee-owned family of businesses, which operates across the UK in the leisure, retail, and logistics sectors. This includes two other camping and glamping businesses: Longnor Wood in the Peak District and Herding Hill Farm near Hadrian’s Wall in Northumberland.
Purves emphasized, “Ultimately, our job is to help our guests make wonderful memories which will last a lifetime.”
