Mid Wales-based escape games company Beyond Breakout has introduced a new interactive experience at Meadow Springs Country and Leisure Park. The game, titled Clue Crew and the Case of the Feathered Thief, is designed for participants of all ages and uses mobile phones to guide players around the park while solving puzzles.
Access is facilitated through a shareable code that can be purchased online, allowing groups to play at their convenience.
“Each game we develop is bespoke, designed specifically for the host site, with an option to include features or themes requested by the site owner,” Lorna Morris, business partner, said in an article published by Out&AboutLive. “Mid Wales is a truly special place, yet many visitors miss some of its most spectacular locations. Our interactive games are designed to guide both visitors and locals to hidden gems.”
Meadow Springs Country and Leisure Park, which was awarded the Best Caravan, Camping & Glamping category at the 2025 National Tourism Awards for Wales, is a member of MWT Cymru (Mid Wales Tourism).
The project was developed in collaboration with Mid Wales Tourism, a not-for-profit membership organization representing more than 600 tourism and hospitality businesses across Powys, Ceredigion, and Meirionnydd.
The initiative aligns with ongoing efforts in the region to diversify visitor experiences and attract a broader range of guests to private campgrounds, glamping sites, and holiday parks.
For outdoor hospitality operators, the game model demonstrates how integrating digital, location-based activities can create additional revenue streams and enhance the visitor experience without requiring extensive on-site staffing or infrastructure changes.
By leveraging local tourism partnerships and mobile technology, businesses can encourage exploration of nearby natural attractions while increasing engagement with their accommodations.
Beyond Breakout plans to continue developing similar bespoke experiences for other tourism sites in Mid Wales, emphasizing collaboration with local businesses and community-focused themes.
