SIHOT Appoints New Operations Leader Amid Strategic Realignment

A Germany-based hotel management software provider has announced changes to its leadership structure as part of a planned transition aimed at supporting long-term growth and international expansion.

The company stated that the move reflects its broader strategy to strengthen operational capabilities, scale its global presence, and further develop its technological and organizational framework in response to evolving demands in the hospitality sector.

As part of the transition, Diogo Llorente has shifted from his role as chief operating officer to Director of Operations Portugal, where he will focus more directly on the Portuguese market.

The COO role had been established as a temporary assignment, during which Llorente contributed to improving internal support structures while continuing to oversee SIHOT’s operations in Portugal. The company emphasized that his continued involvement is intended to maintain stability in regional operations while supporting ongoing strategic priorities.

“Over the past years, Diogo Llorente has made a significant contribution to our success with great professionalism and reliability. We are delighted that he will remain with us and continue his journey as part of our team. At the same time, the continued development of our leadership team is key to our future – with a clear focus on sustainable growth and the successful execution of our strategic objectives,” says Jörg P. Berger, CEO of the SIHOT Group.

Florian Eckert has been appointed to take over operational management responsibilities. He brings experience from the IT, telecommunications, and consulting sectors, including a leadership role at Deutsche Telekom IT where he managed large-scale international programs and organizational initiatives.

In his new position, Eckert will focus on strengthening internal processes, expanding international operations, and aligning the company’s structure with the operational and technological needs of hospitality businesses.

“Florian Eckert brings a strong combination of operational expertise and strategic vision. His experience will play a key role in positioning our organization for the future,” says Carsten Wernet, CEO of the SIHOT Group.

Eckert added, “SIHOT has a strong technological foundation and a clear market position. My goal is to further scale these strengths, refine processes, and align the organization in a way that enables us to grow in a dynamic market environment.”

The leadership update comes as hospitality operators, including those in the outdoor hospitality, RV park, and glamping sectors, continue to increase investment in integrated software solutions to manage operations more efficiently.

Platforms that unify property management, guest services, and ancillary revenue streams are becoming increasingly relevant as operators seek to streamline workflows, reduce manual processes, and respond to changing guest expectations.

For business owners in outdoor hospitality, the company’s focus on scalability and integration highlights a broader industry trend toward adopting flexible, modular systems capable of supporting diverse accommodation types, from traditional hotels to campgrounds and hybrid lodging models.

As digital infrastructure becomes more central to operations, leadership changes that prioritize process optimization and international expansion may influence the pace at which technology providers deliver new features and support cross-market standardization.

Founded in 1986, the company operates globally with multiple offices and serves a range of hospitality segments, including hotels, resorts, and camping accommodations. Its platform is used by international brands and independent operators, reflecting ongoing demand for centralized systems that can adapt to different operational requirements across markets.
