The popular annual Vendors Market at Heidi’s Campground (Ontario, Canada) is back this summer.
According to a report, the market has over 90 vendors with home-based artisans and multi-level marketing vendors.
Cheryl Fournier, the market organizer, said people could find jewelry, food, clothing, candles, and more.
“There is something for everyone of all ages,” she said. “People like to support local.”
Fournier said since they are home-based businesses, vendor markets and craft sales are one of the only ways for vendors to gain exposure.
“Last year, the market was very well received,” she said. “We were asked by Heidi’s to do it every single week.”
Fournier said that turning an event into a weekly occurrence would require enormous work since most vendors like traveling to various venues in the region.
“Doing it yearly keeps it fresh and interesting,” she said. “You never know what vendors will be coming in this way.
Fournier said Heidi’s Campground is the perfect venue for the event.
“The location is feasible because it’s right off the highway,” she said. “We are attracting people from as far as North Bay, Lindsay, Burlington, and Hamilton. It’s a central location.”
The market can be developed into something bigger every year. Fournier hopes that the number of vendors and customers will continue to grow.
This year’s market will take place on July 23, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The campground is booked, and there is no entrance fee.
The Sharing Place Food Centre will be present at the market to solicit food and monetary donations, and the public is asked to support the cause.
As per its website, Heidi’s Campground is a family-owned and operated campground since 1983. It is between Barrie & Orillia, right off Hwy 11, behind Heidi’s RV Superstore.
The campground features 242 Full serviced sites, pull-thru, and back-in spots with 30 amp and 50 amp sites.
Amenities include an indoor heated pool and hot tub, free showers, horseshoe pits, basketball court, volleyball net, playground, coin-operated laundry, Heidi’s Convenience Store, Vita Para Course (Exercise Run), pool table, and more.
