Ontario Convention & CampEx 2023 Gathering for Campground Owners Happening Next Month

In the ever-evolving outdoor hospitality industry, the annual Convention & CampEx stands as a beacon for campground owners, managers, operators, and staff.

This year, as November approaches, the industry’s stalwarts and newcomers alike are gearing up for what promises to be an enlightening and enriching experience.

Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Kingston Waterfront Holiday Inn, the Convention & CampEx 2023 is slated to run from November 19 to November 22. With its theme “New Era, New Us”, the event will feature educational and networking opportunities.

Convention & CampEx offers opportunities to learn from peers, to forge new relationships, and to discover innovative solutions from suppliers is invaluable. The camaraderie built during these few days often translates into long-term partnerships, benefiting campgrounds and suppliers alike.

This year’s gathering is particularly significant. As the theme suggests, there’s an emphasis on looking at the campground industry through various perspective lenses.

Kicking off with a tour of the Skycroft Campground Resort, the convention will feature a series of keynote presentations, including “Camping In Unity” by Earl B. Hunter Jr. of Black Folks Camp Too, an insightful talk on customer service by Peter Morris, and a session on “Experiential Camping” with Kyra Cole of KLB Consulting.

Breakout sessions spanning diverse topics, from workplace safety to Indigenous staffing and events, are peppered throughout the program. Other highlights include a risk management session, a gardening workshop in collaboration with the Kingston Horticultural Society, and a deep dive into the benefits of solar energy with Otter Energy.

The event promises not only knowledge sharing but also networking opportunities, with events like the Supplier Appreciation Evening and the Camper’s Choice Awards Dinner.

Behind this monumental event is Camping In Ontario, also known as the Ontario Private Campground Association (OPCA). As a member-based Association, OPCA has been the voice of small businesses in the campground sector throughout the Province of Ontario. Their commitment to uplifting the industry is evident in the meticulous planning and execution of Convention & CampEx year after year.

For campground owners, this event is more than just a learning opportunity. It’s a reflection of the industry’s resilience, adaptability, and commitment to excellence. In an age where inclusivity and diversity are not just buzzwords but essential business strategies, Convention & CampEx offers a roadmap to success.

The beautiful Kingston Waterfront, with its serene ambiance, is the perfect setting for such a gathering. Away from the hustle and bustle, attendees can immerse themselves in the event, forging connections and imbibing knowledge that will shape the future of their businesses.

Convention & CampEx 2023 is a call for campground owners and operators to come together, learn, grow, and pave the way for a brighter, more inclusive future.
