Camping season is coming in New Brunswick (Canada), and camping enthusiasts can’t wait!
According to a report, the president of the Sussex KOA and Drive-in, Don Monahan, says that reservations are up by 228% year-over-year, “If that is any indication of what is coming to New Brunswick this upcoming season, that’s a very strong indicator.”
Monahan said that their guests are from all over. I would say the majority of the upcoming reservations are coming from central Canada and stateside as well. Except for those who have booked for the Balloon Fiesta. The majority of that traffic is being driven by Maritimers from PEI, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick.
The Atlantic Balloon Fiesta returns this year after being suspended for two years because of COVID-19. The event will take place from September 9 to 11.
He also added that their 250 seasonal sites at the campground are fully booked for the year and have a waiting list.
The campground will open on May 13, and the season runs until the last Sunday of September.
“2020 was the second year of owning the business, and it was a bit challenging with the borders being closed. There was a lot of uncertainty. It gave us time to regroup and rethink what we were doing. 2021, we were almost back at pre-COVID levels, and this year, it is just going to be gangbusters. We are bringing on lots of staff, and training them. We are excited and pumped for this season, ” Monahan said.
