Peachland RV Site Taking Next Step in Redevelopment

It’s looking promising for the Alberta-based Porchlight Developments to redevelop Todd’s RV and Camping site in Peachland (British Columbia, Canada).

As per a report, there was little objection to the rezoning of the property at a public hearing on May 10. The few who spoke against it were concerned about parking, traffic, and short-term rentals.

The site’s rezoning would allow vacation rentals and possible hotel use. Todd’s RV & Camping co-owner Graham Todd said that he’s had several opportunities to sell and believes Porchlight could do an excellent job.

“If I was able to do it myself, it would probably look just like this,” Todd added.

Todd urged the developer and the council to consider measures to reduce traffic along the section of Beach Avenue where the project is planned to be built.

Resident and Trail of the Okanagan Society President Janice Life spoke in favor of the development and urged the council and Porchlight Developments to consider the District of Peachland’s Active Transportation Plan and its impacts on Beach Avenue.

Life encouraged the two groups to collaborate to not preclude any options for the ATC.

Porchlight Developments proposes to construct six multi-family and four single-family buildings on the Todd’s RV site, totaling 46-strata units.

The property’s rezoning still awaits the council’s final approval.
