Multi-Building Condo Project Proposed for Peachland Campground

A huge multi-building condominium project planned for a campground in Peachland (British Columbia) will be presented to the municipal council next week.

According to a report, a developer is proposing six condo buildings with six floors and four single-family homes totaling 46 units at the Todd’s Campground site, a waterfront property in Peachland, British Columbia.

The tourist/residential project will require a change in the zoning and the official community plan.

To upgrade the campground to a tourist resort, the developer is proposing an application to rezone the site to C5 Tourist Commercial zone from C6 Campground and R1 Single Detached Residential.

Municipal staff recommended that the council back the project through a public hearing.

Most of the site is within a designated resort zone of the district’s official community plan that aims to accommodate tourists visiting Peachland and promotes high-rise buildings.

As per district staff’s report, existing community infrastructure can support the development, though some improvements off-site are needed.

The district council will be discussing the plan at its regular meeting on Tuesday, and should they decide to vote in favor of the project, a public hearing is expected to be scheduled.

The property is currently operating as a family-friendly campground and RV park featuring shaded sites, full RV hookups, wi-fi, and more.
