Cultus Lake Park Board Approves Five-Year Deal with Frontline Integrated Security

The Cultus Lake Park Board in British Columbia (Canada) finalized a five-year agreement with Frontline Integrated Security to provide security patrols of Cultus Lake and Sunnyside Campground, according to a Fraser Valley Today report.

The need for a new security service provider was identified as the existing contract neared its end, prompting the park board staff to issue a 71-page request for proposals (RFP) through B.C. Bid and the Cultus Lake Park website.

The bidding process attracted 11 proposals from various security firms. After a thorough evaluation of the bids, staff narrowed down the selection to two finalists based on their ability to meet the specified requirements.

Having previously worked within the park in different capacities, including bylaw enforcement, the director of operations at Frontline Integrated Security showed an understanding of the park’s regulations and operational needs.

Frontline Integrated Security was chosen over the other contenders, promising a cost savings of CA$234,705.54 throughout the five-year agreement.

Cultus Lake Park, located in the Lower Mainland, features a blend of natural beauty with its freshwater lake and surrounding forested mountains, attracting visitors seeking both tranquility and outdoor adventure. The park’s layout is divided, with the northwest side remaining largely pristine and the southeast side hosting visitor amenities.

Within a short drive from Vancouver, the park offers campgrounds, a day-use area for picnicking and boating, and activities such as fishing, water skiing, windsurfing, and hiking, catering to a variety of interests and recreational pursuits.

Rental services for canoes, boats, and jet skis are available, along with a marina, miniature golf, dining options, and essential services. For more extensive shopping needs, the nearby city of Chilliwack offers larger department stores, making Cultus Lake Park and its surrounding area a convenient destination for a wide range of outdoor and leisure activities.

In addition, the area offers a diverse array of recreational activities suited for nature enthusiasts. Visitors can go canoeing, kayaking, waterskiing, fishing, interpretive programs, wildlife viewing, cycling, e-biking, and horseback riding.
