City of Quesnel to See New RV Park & Campground in May

The City of Quesnel (British Columbia) is gearing up for the opening of its new park called “Quesnel Downtown RV Park & Campground,” which is set to open its doors to visitors in May, a local report said.

The campground, located at the old public works near the Johnston Bridge Loop, will offer a range of accommodations for RV enthusiasts, campers, and tenters.

According to Recreation Manager Richard Gauthier, the campground will feature 14 serviced RV sites, three unserviced RV sites, and three tent sites.

The serviced RV sites will come equipped with water and electrical hookups, either 15 or 30 amps, to meet the needs of travelers. Meanwhile, the unserviced RV sites will offer a flat pad for RVs, tent trailers, truck, and campers, but no hookups.

Tent sites, on the other hand, will have no hookups, but provide a grassy flat area specifically designed for tents.

In addition to the camping options, the park will also offer two lockable unisex washroom facilities, potable water, and picnic tables for each campsite, ensuring a comfortable and convenient stay for all guests.

While campfires will not be allowed, propane fires will be permitted for those who enjoy a cozy evening under the stars.

Surge Security will be operating the park, and an employee will act as a “camp host” to manage, operate, and maintain the property, as well as deal with online registrations, administration, advertising, promotion, marketing, rules, and policies, as well as security.

The camp host will receive 70% of the revenue collected from the park, while the City of Quesnel will receive 30%.

In terms of pricing, the fee structure was recently given the first three readings and will be $39 a night for a 30-amp serviced site, $35 a night for a 15-amp serviced site, $29 a night for an unserviced site, and $23 a night for a tent site.

While several details, such as how long people can stay, whether Wi-Fi will be provided, and electricity use restrictions, still have to be finalized, the opening of the Quesnel Downtown RV Park & Campground is a significant development for the City of Quesnel and the RV community.

Local businesses in the area may expect a boost in business as travelers flock to the new park to take advantage of its facilities and amenities.

This new development is also good news for private campgrounds in Canada, as it highlights the continued growth and investment in the outdoor hospitality industry. With increasing demand for camping and outdoor recreation, the City of Quesnel’s new RV Park & Campground is a positive step forward for the industry and will provide additional competition and options for travelers.
