Tomorrow, the British Columbia Lodging and Campgrounds Association (BCLCA) will be holding a free Zoom webinar and town hall cracker barrel to tackle bullying, harassment, and conflict resolution.
The webinar will commence at 10:00 AM Vancouver time and will be divided into two parts.
Part one will be hosted by WorkSafe BC with Lynda Foran, who will discuss bullying and harassment and will take a look at some regulatory requirements related to the dangers that these risks pose to employees.
Bullying, harassment, and violence are considered occupational health and safety concerns that may affect workers’ physical health, mental health, and safety.
The Canadian association has also tapped Lonnie Burnett, an industry health and safety specialist at go2HR, to talk about conflict resolution in the second part of the webinar. During this session, campground owners, operators, and managers can equip themselves with the things they need to prepare for and address challenging guest interactions.
Burnett will be sharing some tools, tips, knowledge, and checklists about creating plans as well as training frontline staff when dealing with guest interactions from pre-arrival, during campers’ stay, and if incidents occur.
After the webinar, BCLCA President Jamie Cox will lead a 30-minute question-and-answer cracker barrel to address operational questions that attendees might have.
