The BC Lodging and Campgrounds Association (BCLCA) is inviting campground operators and other supporters to participate in its fifth annual online auction to raise funds for the Care Camps Foundation.
Scheduled for May, the auction aims to support oncology camps that offer children with cancer a chance to experience outdoor adventures while pausing their medical treatments.
Since its inception, the fundraiser generated over $20,000 for the foundation. “This amazing organization provides specialized oncology camps where children battling cancer can forget their treatments and simply enjoy being kids,” the association noted.
BCLCA is seeking donations to enhance the auction’s offerings. Items of interest include weekend stays at cabins, glamping sites, and cottages, along with gift cards for restaurants, retailers, breweries, and other attractions.
Creative fundraising initiatives have also been proposed for campground owners to further support the cause.
Ideas include hosting pledge days where a portion of store sales is donated and organizing bingo events with proceeds going to Care Camps.

With support from donors and partners, the Care Camps Foundation aims to bring hope and healing to every child and family impacted by childhood cancer across the United States and Canada.
By funding specialized oncology camps and programs, the foundation provides opportunities for these children and their loved ones to experience the therapeutic benefits of nature and community connection.
