BC Lodging and Campgrounds Association Launches Parking Lots and Webinar Series

The British Columbia Lodging and Campgrounds Association (BCLCA) announced the opening of registration for its 2025 Parking Lots and Webinar Series. These free educational sessions, designed for association members, are set to take place during the winter and spring seasons, offering insights into operational and industry trends.

Conducted via Zoom, the Parking Lots occur on the third Thursday of each month at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time. These interactive sessions bring together speakers and participants to explore relevant topics through discussions and live Q&A.

The webinars, on the other hand, are scheduled for the third Wednesday of each month from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., providing an in-depth examination of pressing issues within the outdoor hospitality sector.

Registration is simple, with operators encouraged to sign up using an invitation link. Email reminders are sent to registrants ahead of each session. Additionally, recordings of all sessions are made available through the association’s Dogwood Express newsletter and posted on the partner extranet for convenient access.

According to the association’s Dogwood Express Newsletter sent to members on January 10, the first parking lot session is scheduled for January 23, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. The topic, “Facilities Programming: How Your Physical Design Influences Guest Behaviour, Experience, and Revenue Generation,” will be presented by Deneen Allen, founder and CEO of Firecircle.

This session will explore how a property’s physical features, such as furniture, signage, and amenities, affect guest behavior and overall experience.

Allen’s presentation aims to empower property operators by offering strategies to maximize the potential of existing facilities while identifying opportunities for enhancement. The session promises insights on topics including campsite design, wayfinding, and website presentation.

On February 12, the first webinar will take place, focusing on the value of data-driven decision-making in business operations. Tyler Duffy, president of CampLife, will guide participants through the process of utilizing reservation system data to gain insights and benchmark performance against other Canadian campgrounds.

The second Parking Lot session, scheduled for February 20, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., will feature a panel discussion on reservation software. While speakers are yet to be announced, the session will cover crucial aspects of modern reservation systems, such as interpreting data reports, and enhancing revenue through pricing strategies.
