Pipestone Creek Campground & Park (Alberta, Canada) visitors are welcome to explore around seven kilometers of new natural woodland trails this summer.
According to a report, the single-track trail system runs through the Wapiti River valley–perfect for mountain biking during the summer and snowshoeing in the winter.
“We are excited to welcome overnight campers and park visitors to explore the natural beauty of Pipestone Creek,” says County Parks and Recreation Manager Christine Rawlins.
“The variety of clearly-signed natural woodland trails are accessible to different skill levels and provide another low-cost opportunity for families to head outdoors and explore the County.”
The difficulty level of each trail is listed on the signage at each trailhead. Interpretive signs will be placed on the trails later in the summer to help identify the local plants and animals. A printable trail map is accessible on the County website and at the information kiosk located at Pipestone Creek Campground.
Motorized vehicles are not allowed on the trails within the park.
The project was jointly supported by Alberta Environment and Parks (AEP) and the County of Grande Prairie through an AEP Recreation Partnership Agreement to improve and expand Public Land recreation opportunities.
