Medicine Hat Opens Campground Reservations Next Week

If you’re thinking about getting out and enjoying the great outdoors, it’s not too early to start planning your camping trip for the 2023 season.

In Medicine Hat (Alberta, Canada), reservations for Gas City Campground and Echo Dale Campground will open on January 16. This gives campers and other outdoor recreation enthusiasts plenty of time to plan their trips and ensure they have a spot to set up their tents or park RVs.

Gas City Campground is an excellent option for a convenient and well-equipped camping spot. The campground offers 98 campsites and is located off the Trans-Canada Highway and Seventh Street SW, making it easily accessible. In 2022, two comfort cabins were added, each measuring 540 square feet and fully accessible, which is great news for those looking for more comfortable accommodation.

According to the city’s website, Gas City Campground offers beautiful, shady sites with manicured grass and services that suit every camper’s style. The campground connects to the Heritage Trail Network, which spans more than 115 kilometers throughout the city. These multi-use trails are open to cyclists, joggers, walkers, and pet owners.

Campground amenities include a community campfire pit and kitchen, a convenience store, a dump station, laundry facilities, a playground, showers, and wireless internet.

Echo Dale Campground is another great option for campers looking to spend their time outdoors. According to the City of Medicine Hat’s website, It features ten individual campsites near a boating lake, fishing lake, and swimming area. There is also a beach volleyball court, playground, and open space for baseball and soccer nearby, making it an ideal choice for families.

Campground amenities include a camp kitchen with a wood-burning stove, a large, shared fire pit area, picnic tables, and pit toilets.

If you’re camping at Gas City, check out the nearby Medicine Hat Family Leisure Centre. And at Echo Dale, don’t overlook Echo Dale Regional Park!
