Bucars RV Centre, a recreational vehicle (RV) dealer in Calgary, marks its 65th year of service to the community. Established in 1959, Bucars has been known for its customer service, quality offerings, and industry expertise, catering to outdoor enthusiasts in Alberta and beyond. The facility boasts one of the most extensive sales and service lots in western Canada, sprawling over 16 acres and featuring 16 full-service bays. Additionally, it showcases itself as housing the country’s largest RV parts department.
“A lot of people developed an interest in RVing and camping during the pandemic, and that trend has stayed. Being able to escape the stresses of everyday life is so appealing to many. Today, more than 67 percent of RV’ers are under the age of 55, and 15 percent of Canadian households own an RV. We want people to enjoy their RV lifestyle with confidence and ease,” Bucars Owner Jeff Redmond said in a press release.
A notable feature of Bucars is its commitment to making RV ownership more attainable and enjoyable through education. Since 2006, the “Bucars U” initiative has been offering complimentary seminars and sessions covering various aspects of RVing, from basic operations and trailer towing to seasonal maintenance and sustainable practices like solar power usage and dry camping.
The Canadian RV landscape is robust, with approximately 8.8 million RV trips recorded in 2017, a number that has continued to grow, underscoring the sector’s vitality and the increasing appeal of RV travel among Canadians.
In honor of its 65th anniversary, Bucars hosted a celebratory event at their Balzac location, showcasing an array of family-friendly activities, including prize draws, face painting, and marshmallow roasting, alongside substantial giveaways and a grand prize drawing, set to enrich the festive atmosphere.
According to the press release, Bucars’ commitment to excellence recently earned them the prestigious Diamond Service Award from Newmar. This recognition is especially notable as Bucars stands as the first and only Canadian dealership to receive this accolade from Newmar, which boasts 89 dealers across North America.
Kyle Redmond, another key figure at Bucars, underscores the organization’s dedication to enhancing customer satisfaction, a commitment that has previously secured them the Top 50 Dealers Award for nine consecutive years. This distinction is particularly significant, highlighting Bucars as one of the select Canadian dealerships celebrated for their service excellence in 2023.
