The Australian Caravan Industry’s “Road to a Million” campaign saw over 29,000 individual entrants register their caravan parks’ visit numbers, representing over 139,000 nights in the market from June 1 to July 31.
The campaign is the industry’s first attempt to unite over 1,400 participating caravan holiday parks and the largest industry rental fleets in partnership with each of the seven caravan park state associations, whose support made it possible, according to a news release by the Caravan Industry Association of Australia (CIAA).

In the campaign’s first month, more than 750 entrants participated in the “Road to a Million” consumer survey. It showed that 71% of participants said the campaign likely influenced further booking this year, with 34% saying it influenced a winter holiday that people might not have taken.
The survey also showed that 18.65% of participants booked additional nights, and 20.34% traveled further because of the campaign, which the campaign considers that if an entrant travels farther away from a metropolitan city, the more entries they receive.
The CIAA said both consumer and industry feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and they are glad to see that everyone involved in the industry’s collective efforts is paying off in real-market conversation.
