The Caravan Industry Association of Australia has launched its 2026 Executive and Business Leaders Survey, aiming to capture current operating conditions across the caravan and camping sector.
The survey seeks insights from parks, dealerships, manufacturers, and suppliers navigating rising fuel and energy costs, supply chain pressures, and shifting consumer confidence.
The announcement highlighted the importance of timely, ground-level data to inform its advocacy efforts with federal government policymakers.
“Your insights are not just data points. They are the evidence base that underpins our advocacy with [the] government, our policy submissions, and our ability to represent the industry’s true position when it matters most,” the survey announcement states.
This year’s survey includes a specific section on the impact of the ongoing Middle East conflict on Australian businesses in the sector, an issue cited as affecting operations directly for some operators.
Participants are asked to report on current business conditions and expectations for the next 12 months.
Responses are collected in aggregate and remain confidential. Results are published in the association’s annual Industry Insights Report and used in official submissions to the federal government.
The survey is designed to take approximately five minutes to complete and will remain open until April 3.
The survey is positioned as a critical tool for industry planning and advocacy, providing a snapshot of business confidence and operational conditions in a fast-moving environment. By capturing these insights, the association aims to inform strategies that address immediate challenges while supporting long-term sector resilience.
According to its website, the Caravan Industry Association of Australia is the peak national body representing the caravanning and camping sector. Guided by the vision “To lead and champion a safe, compliant and sustainable caravanning and camping industry in Australia,” the association operates under defined operational pillars to support and develop the industry.
Operating as a not-for-profit, the association’s membership includes individual state caravanning and camping associations, with which it works collaboratively to advance sector-wide initiatives. Its network spans more than 6,000 businesses across the caravan and camping supply chain, many of which contribute voluntarily to a cooperative fund that supports the sustainability of the broader industry.
The association also engages directly with consumers, maintaining a database of more than 508,000 caravanning and camping enthusiasts.
