Maldives Resort Introduces Transparent Beach Bubbles for Overnight Stays

A resort in the Maldives is drawing attention for its transparent beachside accommodations designed to offer guests an immersive, nature-focused overnight stay.

Seaside Finolhu Baa Atoll Maldives has introduced a beach bubble tent experience, available exclusively to guests staying a minimum of three nights at the resort.

The accommodation consists of a cluster of spherical structures, including two transparent orbs positioned along a secluded sandbank.

The see-through domes are climate-controlled and fully waterproof, with UV protection. Each unit includes custom-fitted wooden flooring, bespoke furnishings, and an attached living area and bathroom equipped with a WC and shower.

The beach bubble can be reserved for a single night, from 7pm to 9am, and includes a private beach BBQ and breakfast served by the water.

According to the resort’s website, “Awake or asleep – here you’ll experience a feeling of infinity. Above you the cosmos and the blackness of the sky, through which the Milky Way shines like a work of art.”

It continues, “A short sunset stroll takes the couple to the unique beach bubble hideaway where they can enjoy a lovely beach BBQ with a Maldivian twist, and then retreat into their private bubble for an unforgettable night under the stars.”

The experience is described as a “closer-to-nature” glamping option that maintains high-end design and amenities. The transparent structure was conceived and designed bythe Spanish firm Eye In the Sky.

The broader Seaside Finolhu resort is located in Baa Atoll, part of a UNESCO-declared biosphere reserve known for its rich biodiversity, according to the Daily Mail

The region supports approximately 1,200 reef species, making it a destination for snorkelling and scuba diving. Visitors may encounter turtles, dolphins, manta rays, and whale sharks in nearby waters.

Beyond the bubble tents, the resort features multiple dining options, including a sushi bar, crab shack, and a beachside grill. Recreational facilities include a gym, tennis court, golf studio, and a full-service spa offering massages and hydrotherapy.

Families traveling with children can take advantage of the kids’ club, while additional experiences such as fishing excursions and marine biology tours are also available.

Accommodation options include overwater and beachfront villas, some with private pools. The property also offers a premium “rockstar villa” that features a private host, a sitting room, and direct access to the ocean. Rates for a lagoon villa at Seaside Finolhu start from £572.45 per night.

For professionals in the outdoor hospitality sector, the beach bubble concept represents a potential model for integrating immersive, eco-forward experiences into luxury resort settings.

Combining unique architecture with curated natural settings and premium amenities, this model highlights how innovation in accommodation design can appeal to experience-driven travelers while differentiating a property in competitive markets.
