Exoticamp, a Chennai-based camping startup, has announced a ₹7 crore investment from Brand Capital, marking a significant step in its journey to redefine adventure tourism in India.
The new funding is expected to bolster Exoticamp’s national expansion, enabling it to scale operations and enhance brand visibility. With the media and marketing expertise of Brand Capital, Exoticamp aims to solidify its position as a leader in India’s eco-tourism and adventure travel market.
Since its first funding round in July 2024, Exoticamp has rapidly grown to operate 300 campsites across 13 states, offering offbeat and sustainable camping experiences. The latest partnership comes as the company sets its sights on making camping more mainstream while promoting eco-friendly tourism.
“We are thrilled to have Brand Capital onboard. This partnership aligns perfectly with our vision of making camping more accessible and promoting sustainable tourism across India,” said Swaminathan Subramanian, co-founder and CEO of Exoticamp, to ET Travel World.
“This deal is not only a vote of confidence in our business model but also a major step forward in our mission to bring nature closer to people in an eco-friendly and sustainable way.”
Srini Vudayagiri, President and Head of Brand Capital, highlighted the growing demand for unique travel experiences among younger demographics. “Camping is now getting popular among Gen-Z and there is a need for a safe and unique experience for adventure seekers. Our investment in Exoticamp will enable young Indians to discover the go-to brand that aims to provide the experience that travelers seek.”
With a focus on nature-centric, eco-conscious travel, Exoticamp plans to leverage this funding to expand its reach, offering curated experiences that blend adventure with environmental stewardship. Business owners in the outdoor hospitality space may want to keep an eye on this growing brand as it continues creating developments in camping and adventure tourism in India.
