This African Glamping Site is Worth Adding to Your Bucket List

When it comes to bucket lists, national parks across Africa, South Africa’s Kruger, and Tanzania’s Serengeti and Ngorogoro instantly come to mind. One place that isn’t featured so often is Namibia’s Etosha.

Etosha’s location makes it so unspoiled and captivating in the northwest of the country.

According to a report, Dolomite Camp was the first camp to open west of Etosha National Park.

Set on a prominent dolomite ridge offering beautiful views over the surrounding landscape,  Dolomite Camp is a luxury permanent tented camp with an emphasis on personal service, offering an exclusive experience with a smaller number of guests.

Dolomite Camp is surrounded by various wildlife– lion, leopard, massive herds of elephant, rhino, giraffe, wildebeest, cheetah, hyena, mountain and plains zebra, springbok, kudu, gemsbok, and eland, and those are just the headliners of the 114 species that congregate here.

It’s also worth pointing out that the area is surrounded by a myriad of luxurious lodging options for those looking to drive into the park and out every day. Etosha Safari Lodge, with its infinity pool that overlooks the plains, is a favorite.

The best time to visit is during the dry period from May through October.

Accommodation at Dolomite Camp comprises only 20 elevated tent chalets with thatched roofs dotted among the rocky outcrop to ensure both privacy and beautiful panoramic views.

Facilities include a guest lounge, fireside boma, two restaurant areas, a swimming pool, laundry service, and a bar.

The private bush chalets are equipped with a small minibar fridge, tea/coffee station, ensuite bathroom, small balcony, comfy beds, mosquito nets, in-room safe, and a wardrobe.

Meanwhile, there are three deluxe chalets at Dolomite Resort. The deluxe chalets are built from canvas and thatch, forming luxury tented chalets with beautiful views out over the surrounding area.
