Windy Harbour Caravan Park Receives VisitEngland Rose Award

Windy Harbour Caravan Park on the Fylde coast has received a VisitEngland Rose Award, recognizing the park’s customer service and the work of its team in delivering guest experiences.

The caravan park was among the accommodation businesses recognized at the 2026 ROSE Awards, which took place on September 8. VisitEngland presents Rose Awards to accommodation providers across England, with 100 businesses receiving the accolade each year. The awards recognize hosts and teams that demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service and hospitality.

Windy Harbour has been owned by Partington’s Holiday Parks since 1953. The company has also been expanding the site’s footprint. In March 2023, Partington’s acquired an additional 166 acres of land adjacent to the park, which it plans to incorporate into its longer-term development plans for the site.

For caravan park operators, the recognition highlights the role that day-to-day guest service can play alongside physical investment in a park. While site facilities, accommodation, pitches, and amenities can influence booking decisions, VisitEngland’s award criteria also place emphasis on the quality of the welcome and service delivered by accommodation teams.

Partington’s chief executive officer, Rob Kearsley, told The Gazette: “This award is a wonderful recognition of the passion, care and attention to detail park manager Shelley Jones and the entire team at Windy Harbour put into creating great experiences for our guests.

“Hospitality is all about people, and our teams are at the heart of everything we do. From the moment our guests arrive, we want them to feel genuinely welcomed, looked after and excited to be on holiday. This award is testament to everyone at Windy Harbour who goes that extra mile to make that happen.”

The award also comes as the park continues to operate within the context of Partington’s broader plans for Windy Harbour following the 2023 land acquisition. For operators considering expansion, the combination of site development and service standards illustrates how investment in physical capacity can be accompanied by attention to the guest experience and staff performance.

VisitEngland director Andrew Stokes said: “The VisitEngland ROSE Awards showcase the excellent accommodation available across England.

“They honour the people behind the businesses who go out of their way to provide outstanding customer service, innovative options for all tastes and budgets and a great welcome for visitors.

“Where people rest their heads is central to ensuring memorable visitor experiences and these providers drive tourism and its benefits across communities.”

For the outdoor hospitality sector, the recognition provides another example of how established caravan parks can use service quality as part of their broader approach to guest retention and reputation. As operators balance investment in accommodation, infrastructure, and expansion with staffing and operational costs, maintaining consistent service remains an important consideration in the overall guest proposition.
