National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Transport Canada will kick off this year’s Regulatory & Safety Compliance Seminar. The 7th annual event is free and open to all RV Industry Association (RVIA) members.
NHTSA Safety Recall Specialist Choon Lee will have a presentation focusing on the administration’s recall trends, while Transport Canada Head of Recalls Jeremy Hamilton’s presentation will cover the agency’s regulatory updates, recall trends, and RV labeling in Canada, as per RVIA’s News & Insights report.
The presentations are targeted mainly at attendees with compliance responsibilities, whether related to safety or environmental regulations and who wish to learn more about safety and recall processes.
The panelists for the seminar are Vehicle Safety & Regulatory Compliance Vice President David Mihalick of THOR Industries, Lindsey Research Services Owner Von Lindsey, Forest River Head of Compliance Mike Becker, Enterprise Product Safety and Compliance Director Kevin Van Bronkhorst of Winnebago Industries, and Nelson Mullins Partner Christie Iannetta.
The panelist discussions will cover various topics, including parts traceability, recall completion rate efforts, researching possible safety issues, external communications, and consent orders.
The day will end with a presentation from Dale Kardos of Kardos & Associates LLC, covering the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and California Air Resource Board (CARB) regulatory impacts on the RV industry.
