The new Ford F-150 Lightning has been released, giving RVers an electric vehicle strong enough to pull a 2017 30′ Airstream Flying Cloud with an 8,800-pound GVWR, which Keep Your Daydream used to review the EV.
The F-150 Lightning models come standard with two electric motors and all-wheel drive. With the Standard-Range battery, the motors combine to make 452 horsepower but with the Extended-Range battery, the horsepower rating rises to 580.
It also has a peak torque of an impressive 775 pound-feet with either setup. The EV’s handling is slightly more agreeable due to its lower center of gravity which helps keep body roll in check. Ford also confirmed a total payload capacity of 2,235 pounds for the vehicle.
