Eurocamp Owner Becomes Europe’s Leading Provider of Outdoor Accommodation

European Camping Group (ECG), the owner of Eurocamp, has become the largest provider of outdoor accommodation in Europe after acquiring Vacanceselect Group in a deal worth €1 billion.

Eurocamp is a British holiday company based in Cheshire that provides pre-sited outdoor holidays in Europe. The company works with third party partner campsites and holiday villages to offer beach, city and countryside holidays to approximately 180 parks in Europe, including in France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg and Croatia.

The acquisition has allowed ECG to triple its campsite portfolio, offering holidaymakers a vast selection of 500 destinations across France, Italy, Spain, Croatia, and the Netherlands.

The new group, which has recently received approval from French competition authorities, aims to achieve a turnover of €700 million this year.

The acquisition has added the Canvas Holidays and Vacanceselect brands to ECG’s renowned travel brands Eurocamp, Homair, and Roan. Moreover, ECG’s owned campsite portfolio has now increased to 100 high-end parks with the Tohapi brand joining its existing Marvilla Parks brand.

ECG President Alain Calmé expressed his delight over the acquisition, stating that ECG is now the leading provider of outdoor accommodation across Europe

He added that the integration of Vacanceselect would enable ECG to enchant, entertain, and delight families from all over Europe with a wide range of parks and accommodation.

Eurocamp Managing Director Darren Marsh expressed excitement over the deal, stating that the acquisition provides Eurocamp customers with a vast choice of holiday parks across the most popular travel hotspots in Europe.

He added that Eurocamp is thrilled to introduce the new holiday park portfolio to its guests in the coming months.

The acquisition allows Eurocamp to capitalize on the rising demand for higher-end holiday experiences by providing more resorts with premium mobile homes, water parks, activities, and entertainment for all ages.

It is investing in improving guests’ accommodation experience, introducing new premium features like integrated lounge-style seating areas on mobile home terraces, memory foam mattresses, and Nespresso coffee machines.

ECG’s acquisition of Vacanceselect is a significant milestone for the company, solidifying its position as a leader in outdoor accommodations in Europe.

The acquisition offers a vast selection of high-end parks, allowing holidaymakers to choose from numerous locations across Europe. With the integration of Vacanceselect, ECG aims to share best practices to improve the quality, accessibility, and sustainability of its offerings.
