Can You Run Your AC Continuously in Your RV?

If you’re an RV owner, chances are you’ll be using your vehicle to escape the summer heat in the coming months. And while there’s nothing quite like hitting the open road and spending some time under the stars, it’s important to make sure your RV is as cool and comfortable as possible.

In this video, the National RV Training Acamedy (NRVTA) has put together a few tips to help maximize the cooling efficiency of your RV, so read on for all the info.

As summer temperatures continue to rise, it goes without saying that RV owners will need to utilize their AC to keep cool. One question that always arises is: “am I hurting my RV’s airconditioner if I’m running it at a hundred percent?” According to NRVTA, running an airconditioner continuously is possible due to the compressor and fan motor that also run continuously.

“It’s actually better if the compressor is continuously running and not constantly getting hit by the capacitor every single time we cycle it,” said Todd of the NRVTA.

However, RVers must ensure that the airways are clean to allow the AC to “breathe.”
