Reservations for Wisconsin‘s Marathon County campgrounds are up this year as campers are looking forward to the upcoming camping season even as central Wisconsin is bound to meet cold temperatures.
“It’s hard to think of camping when there’s snow on the ground, but it’s looking really well,” Marathon County and Wausau Director of Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Jamie Polley told a local report.
Marathon County campgrounds so far have 900 reservations booked for the 2022 season.
Polley explained that people can now reserve a camping spot at Marathon County campgrounds up to 365 days ahead. With many people considering camping, reservations are only bound to go up.
She noted that they witnessed an increase of 36% in new campers in 2020 and a similar increase in 2021. As campgrounds are being filled up, retailers like King’s Campers are attempting to replenish their inventory even as they witness campers and RVs getting sold quickly.
“The camping season is looking great,” King’s Campers Sales Manager John Gajewski said.
Gajewski shared that they had trouble with inventory last year but climbed back up this year.
