A jam-packed Resch Center (Wisconsin) on Sunday shows the best part about the camping experience within Northeast Wisconsin—growth.
According to a report, Carla Brown of the Wisconsin Association of Campground Owners claims that families jumped on camping as a safe activity during COVID.
“We have 210 campgrounds in the association, and they all have been packed,” said Brown.
The rise in the number of campers to something you may not have expected.
“Actually, it’s the rookies, so now the association is trying different classes to get to the new rookies,” said Brown, “knowing how to hook up their trailers and back them into sites.”
Brown anticipates that the trend of crowded campgrounds will continue this year.
The DNR announced that Peninsula State Park is already 99% full for the Memorial Day weekend, 95% for Labor Day Weekend, with weekends in between Memorial and Labor Day standing at 96% as of January 28
With nice trailers on display at the Green Bay RV & Camping Expo on Sunday growing in popularity, it’s allowing families to grow their relationship.
This is something that holds a special meaning for former Packer Gilbert Brown.
“Bonding is the key to it. I mean as a Father for a son, mother to a daughter, being able to get up in the morning and cook,” said Brown. “It’s just awesome. That’s what it’s all about.”
Brown added that it’s also a great opportunity for people who want to reconnect with loved ones they haven’t seen for a long time.
