Winnebago Industries, Inc., an industry leader in outdoor lifestyle products, announced Wednesday that its corporate headquarters will move from Forest City, Iowa, to Eden Prairie, Minnesota, effective December 1st, a report said.
Since 2016, the company’s executive offices are based in Minnesota. The headquarters move has not caused any job losses and it does not have any physical impact on manufacturing assets.
Michael Happe, President and Chief Executive Officer of Winnebago Industries, stated that Winnebago Industries had transformed into an outdoor lifestyle company with a wide range of products and brands.
“Through strategic growth investments over the last several years, our company has expanded its footprint to include locations in Iowa and Indiana as well as Florida, Florida, Minnesota, and Florida. The Twin Cities location has been an effective resource in executing our vision of a premier outdoor recreation enterprise. It also supports the growth and expansion of all our strong brands. We are proud of our Forest City roots and all the contributions made by our employees from Iowa over the years to the company’s growth.”
Winnebago Industries employs approximately 6,500 people, with 100 of them based in its Eden Prairie office.
Winnebago Industries will continue to be a strong North Iowa company after the transition. Winnebago Industries’ Iowa operations will remain the manufacturing hub for Winnebago specialty vehicles and motorhome products. The company currently employs around 2,100 people and plans to increase that number in the next 12 months to meet the increasing demand for Winnebago RVs, the report added.
