A brand new company called Country Road Cabin Rentals LLC has received a Virginia Coalfield Economic Development Authority (VCEDA) seed capital match grant, a report said.
The new business was created to enhance lodging opportunities on the Spearhead Trails‘ Coal Cabin Trail in Buchanan County, Virginia.
With access to the trail and the city of Grundy, Raymond Webb, one of the owners, stated recently that they have already seen the benefits of their investment since rentals are increasing as the place is getting well-known.
Country Road Cabin Rentals LLC recently received the $6,500 grant.
“As tourism has become an increasingly viable economic sector in Southwest Virginia, businesses like Country Road Cabin Rentals LLC have been able to take advantage of existing assets to provide a service and create jobs at the same time,” said VCEDA Executive Director/General Counsel Jonathan Belcher.
“Country Road Cabin Rentals LLC projects created up to two full-time jobs within two years.”
Webb explained that they utilized the grant by purchasing a camper to turn into an additional lodging unit available for rent.
The Webbs have used Airbnb to rent their property and have seen results with it.
