Are your bags ready? Virginia State Parks campgrounds are scheduled to open reservations today!
According to a report, while full-service campgrounds with bathhouses at Douthat, Hungry Mother, Pocahontas, and Shenandoah River are open year-round, all other campgrounds that are usually closed on the first Monday of December will reopen today.
Virginia State Parks campgrounds will reopen today, March 4 and accept reservations for the upcoming camping season.
Twenty-nine of Virginia’s 41 state parks provide camping, with over 1,800 campsites, with options that range from basic camping to RV campsites with electricity and water hookups.
New this year, and replacing the prior first-come-first-served campground reservation rule, guests will now be able to log online, look up an interactive map and pick a suitable campsite to reserve.
Campers can also contact the Customer Service Center at 800-933-7275 and choose option five to book a reservation.
