According to officials, a newlywed couple was shot and killed at their campsite in southeast Utah. According to local officials, their deaths occurred days after they had expressed concern to friends about a “creepy man” living near their campsite, a report said.

Grand County Sheriff’s Office released a statement regarding the incident that occurred in Moab (Utah), approximately 260 miles from Salt Lake City. Crystal Michelle Turner (38) and Kylen Carrol Schulte (24), were the two women who died.

“At this time the Grand County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an ongoing homicide investigation,” the statement said.

“We are currently investigating any and all leads we come across during this investigation. We will continue to provide information to anyone who comes forward.”

According to the Grand County Sheriff’s Office, there is no immediate danger to the public in Grand County.

The campsite was not considered a danger to the public despite the deaths of the couple.
