On Wednesday afternoon, a recreational vehicle was discovered burning east of Salina. The Saline County Sheriff’s Office now wants to know who it belongs to, a report said.
At 4:11 p.m. on Wednesday, five deputies and personnel from Rural Fire District No. 5 were dispatched to the 3400 block E. North Street. This was for the reporting of a vehicle fire.
The report mentioned Saline County Undersheriff Brent Melander who said they found the 1983 Fleetwood Pace Arrow RV in flames when they arrived.
Melander stated that a farmer passing by saw the fire and tried to extinguish it with a fire extinguisher. He also said that he checked to ensure no one was there.
He also said that the Kansas license plate for the RV was expired in 2015 and was registered in Phillipsburg. However, investigators are still trying to locate the owner, the report mentioned.
Melander stated that anyone with information regarding this fire and the RV is encouraged to contact the sheriff’s department at (785) 826-6500.
