Three locations of Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park have made their mark in USA TODAY’s 10Best 2023 Readers’ Choice competition, ranking among the top six RV parks nationwide. The parks in Pennsylvania, Texas, and Mississippi have all received this prestigious recognition.
The Jellystone Park in Mill Run, Pennsylvania secured the third position, while the counterpart in Burleson, Texas was voted fourth. The park in Pelahatchie, Mississippi, last year’s number one, slipped slightly but still made the cut at sixth place this year.
The parks, known for their unique attractions and activities, offer a diverse range of recreational facilities. These include prominent water zones, elaborate water slides, appealing RV sites, and a mix of deluxe cabins and glamping accommodations. The focus of these parks is creating a memorable family experience.
Reflecting on the accomplishment, Trent Hershenson, vice president of marketing for Camp Jellystone, stated, “We are thrilled that USA TODAY readers consider Jellystone Park campgrounds to be among the best in the nation. The fact that three Jellystone Park locations placed among the top six RV parks in the nation speaks volumes.”
“Our franchisees are continually working to improve their parks and to provide the best family camping and glamping experiences available, which enable families to create memories they will always cherish.”
Each of these top-ranked Jellystone Park locations has witnessed considerable improvements in recent years. The Mill Run location, for example, introduced a zero entry swimming pool with interactive water features and two lengthy water slides.
Meanwhile, the Pelahatchie location added a new slide to its existing splash park, and a variety of other attractions like a Water Wars game, laser tag, gem mining, human foosball, and a jumping pad. The Burleson location focused on expanding its range of new RV sites and unique glamping accommodations.
Jellystone Park locations have a reputation for their diverse attractions, structured family activities, and themed weekends. These parks offer interactions with beloved characters such as Yogi Bear, Boo Boo, Cindy Bear, and Ranger Smith, making them a favorite among families.
This recognition holds significant value for private campground owners and operators as well. With increased interest and visibility, there is a potential uptick in visitors, thereby leading to potential revenue growth.
The achievements of Jellystone Park could also encourage other private campground owners to innovate and enhance their offerings to compete at a similar level.
