Forest Grove RV Resort, a 207-acre $18-million RV resort, is coming to Dandridge (Tennessee) in the fall of 2022.
“I looked all over three counties,” developer Tim Hine said. “And I tried to do something in Sevier County a year and a half ago, but Sevier County didn’t want to have it.”
Forest Grove’s future home sits on Harbin Road just off Interstate-40 in Jefferson County.
In December, the Jefferson County Planning Commission unanimously approved Hine’s proposal.
Forest Grove will have 500 RV sites, 100 rental cabins, four bathhouses, as well as an indoor cafe.
Hine added that there are plans to build a water park, a catch and release fish pond, 50′ x 80′ dog park, volleyball and basketball courts, as well as a 3-mile nature walk around the resort, all worth $18 million.
“When you go into a project like this, it’s either you’re all in, or you’re all out, and I wanted to be all in,” he said. “So that’s why I decided to do it – make it one lump sum and go for it,” Hine said.
Forest Grove RV Resort will also provide WiFi and cable at each campsite.
Hine stated that there would be a minimum two-night stay to prevent traffic in the park.
Hine served for the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam and is determined to show gratitude to first responders and other military members by offering a 20% discount.
Forest Grove RV Park will open its door in the fall of 2022.
Hine hopes to make Jefferson County a prime vacation destination in Tennessee.
