The manager of Rapid City RV Park & Campground looked forward to a busy summer just before the summer boom and is now wrapping up the season on a high note, a report said.

Harper said, “June first came and were hit.” From then to the second week in August, it was 24 hours a day. It was very busy. The phones rang for at least two weeks. Our sister park was used as a backup, but nine times out of 10 we were packed at both locations.”

There are over 200 sites, RV sites and cabins between the two campgrounds. The majority of these rooms were filled all summer and had people who wanted to stay longer than usual.

Harper said, “This year, we saw more people see longer periods. They might have stayed for five to seven days instead of two or three days. They stayed longer than usual this year.”

She stated that Labor Day weekend has been a bit quiet, but that the numbers are still high for this time of the year and will continue to grow into 2022.

Harper stated, “We’ve had people contact us for next year, we’ve had major bookings for next season already so I believe next summer will be a good one as well.”
