Carolina Pines RV Resort’s (South Carolina) manager was accused of allegedly stealing over $867,000 from Sun Outdoors, which operates the resort, as per arrest warrants.
According to a report, Troy Bittner (52) was arrested on January 5 and accused of three counts of breach of trust with fraudulent intent, jail records, and warrants show.
As per a Horry County police report, a complainant reached out to an officer on December 29 to report embezzlement at Carolina Pines RV Resort. The RV resort’s manager was taken a week later.
Bittner allegedly took $81,430 from the company’s safe between January 1 last year and January 6 this year and used it personally without the consent of the business. According to the warrant, the alleged theft was caught on video.
The accused also allegedly refunded the company’s funds to his credit cards, warrants state. Between November 26, 2020, and January 6, 2022, he made a refund of diverse amounts to his credit cards with amounts of $497,116, $136,468, $134,885, and $17,339, as per arrest warrants.
Bittner has been released to home detention and is currently facing just two charges claiming theft amounting to $216,315, as per warrants and online jail and court documents.
