Landrum Holds Meeting to Discuss RV Park Concerns

South Carolina’s City of Landrum held a meeting to discuss the issues circling a proposed RV park.

The RV park would be situated on 11 acres near I-26 Landrum Mill Road. According to a report, many residents believe the plan could increase traffic and even lead to more crime.

Locals also suggested different places further from the town.

“For an RV park for someone to come in, there needs to be a pill for it. Someone coming off the interstate just to pull in for one night there’s just nothing here for that,” Preston Simons, a Landrum resident, told a local report.

“It’s the shopping. Well, all the stores close at 5 o’clock. If someone’s coming in, coming off the interstate, they’re gonna be coming in closer to 5 o’clock or later. There’s nothing else for them to do.”

The developer believes that the RV park will help businesses in the area. He also stated that RVs could be parked in one place for only a short period.

Moreover, he assured that there would be a registry that would keep track of the number of visitors.
