RV Technical Institute (RVTI) is the industry’s standard for RV technician training. It offers the only industry-backed curriculum, certification, and career path. Since its inception, RVTI has been managed by its Board of Directors. Recently, the industry contributed to RVTI’s establishment of three industry-led committees.
In support of RVTI’s unique program for technician training and recruitment, these committees were recently added: the Certification Commission and Learning Partner Commission, the RV Industry Association announced.
Brandon Galbreath, a Top Tech Challenge winner and Level 4 Master Certified Technician, is the Certification Commission’s leader. This committee is responsible to set passing scores for certification exams (as suggested by the curriculum committee), review all testing impropriety appeals and cases, determine the course of action for improprieties and approve Level 3 certification requirements hours. This committee is made up of Level 4 Master Certified Technicians. The first meeting of the committee will be held soon. It will discuss topics such as the revision and revisions to Level 3 certification criteria, and the criteria for expired technicians (also known as the “re-engagement program”).
The second committee is the Learning Partner Commission. Lee Casey from RV Retailer is the head of this commission. This commission reviews non-compliance appeals and cases determines the best course of action and upholds learning partner criteria. This committee includes representatives from RVTI’s learning partners.
The Curriculum Committee is the last addition to the committee structure. Steve Roddy is the Chairman of this committee. He is a Level 4 Master Certified Technician and Aftermarket Supplier, as well as an FRVTA Instructor, who works with Dealer Resources Group. The Curriculum Committee approves changes to the curriculum and tests and recommends certification passing scores to Certification Commission. This committee is composed of Level 4 Master Certified Technician subject matter experts who have a deep knowledge of the entire curriculum.
