According to a report, a real estate developer from Indian Trail (North Carolina) has expanded its business to Cleveland County.

On Tuesday, the Cleveland County Board of Commissioners approved an application to rezone 47 acres of land located on Battleground Road between Kings Mountain and Grover to authorize the creation of an RV park with 103 units.

The property is part of The Moser Group Inc., an Indian Trail developer already developing apartments in Kings Mountain.

“The area as far as uses goes is a mixed bag. We see a lot of commercial, residential, and industrial uses in this area,” said Chris Martin, county planning director, during the meeting.

According to the site plan, the proposed park will have 18 cottages, 103 sites, and 11 tent campsites spread across the entire property.

“What we are going to have here is a high-end resort-style, not just a pump and dump kind of place,” said Matthew Kirchner, an engineer at Eagle Engineering, speaking on behalf of Moser Group at the meeting.

Kirchner stated that the accommodation is intended to be temporary for those who visit the area, not for long-term housing.

“This is really geared toward casino stay. They can come with their families, go to the casino and be here for a long weekend is what we are proposing,” said Kirchner.

The timeframe for the building and opening of the park is yet to be revealed.

The board unanimously voted to accept the rezoning petition.
