Triple R Campground hosted a unique ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday to celebrate its $800,000 spray pad water park.
The project is called LeeKee Lagoon and was funded by a capital grant of $106,812 from I LOVE NY/New York State from the Division of Tourism. This grant was made possible through the Western New York Regional Economic Development Council initiative, a report said.
John Tinelli, Triple R Campground owner, arranged for a ribbon-cutting to be performed by youth on a four-lane waterslide. The Tinellis held the end of a long, blue-ribbon while Cattaraugus County Industrial Development Agency Executive director Corey Wiktor and Kevin Quattrone from Cattaraugus County Bank held the other.
There are 212 campsites at the campground.
John Tinelli stated that the new splash pad was opened on Memorial Day Weekend. The splash pad is adjacent to a full-size pool and large heated hot tub. You can also find several cabanas.
Five employees have been hired to staff the hot tub, splash pad, and pool. John Tinelli, a new year-round facilities manager was also announced.
