Man in Critical Condition After Almost Drowning Near Michigan Campground

A 30-year-old man was in critical condition after nearly drowning at the Platte River Campground, a report said.

Platte River District Park Rangers reported that first responders were called out to the Platte River just west of El Dorado where a 30-year-old man was taken from the river at 2:30 on Friday afternoon.

He was taken to Munson Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.

This incident is still under investigation.

National Park Service Rangers were supported by Frankfort Fire Department and Benzie County EMS as well as the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and the Benzie County Sheriff’s Department.
