Business is booming for Village Green Family Campgroundund in Massachusetts and the owners say it’s only going to get better, a report said.
“This year was very successful, very busy,” Meg Twarowski (co-owner) said.
“There are many people who want to go camping if they don’t have any experience. There are a lot more tenters than there are people who bring their trailers. It’s been great.”
Village Green is seeing more people camp than ever before. According to the family-owned campground, this is their best year in 28 years of ownership.
The report also mentioned Lester Twarowski, the co-owner, who said, “I have a theory people that people don’t go to the beach.”
“They can’t travel to Maine. Maine was closed. New Hampshire was also closed. We ended up with a full campsite because all those places were closed.”
The campground now has more than 100 sites for seasonal camping. Although they didn’t need as many, their phones were ringing constantly.
“We decided that when COVID hit we would sell them as seasonals because people were calling and asking us if they could get seasonals because they couldn’t get into any campgrounds because they wouldn’t open them up,” Lester Twarowski stated.
Village Green hasn’t had it easy ever since the tornadoes destroyed the campground 10 years back. The owners have been rebuilding it ever since. But with business up to 10% to 15% more
According to the owners, there are many people who plan on coming back next year and they have already reserved their spots, the report added.
