In an effort to raise awareness, Kentucky tourism officials offer a new incentive to residents to get vaccinated, a report said.
The program, Vax and Visit was launched on Thursday. It allows permanent Kentucky residents to enter draws for travel incentives at Kentucky State Parks, Tourism, Arts, and Heritage Secretary Mike Berry.
He said that there will be 30 drawings to win gift certificates. These will include overnight lodging, golf rounds, and camping stays.
Officials said that the drawings raise awareness about how Kentucky residents can be vaccinated.
Berry stated that offering vaccine incentives to Kentucky State Parks would not only increase travel revenue but also ensure Kentucky is seen as a safe destination for travelers post-pandemic.
The winners will be chosen beginning September 9th and the final drawing will take place on October 7.
