Hamilton County Parks and Recreation has closed and evacuated its White River Campground north of Noblesville (Indiana) because of the flooding forecast, a report said.

The river had already submerged part of the camp by 9 in the morning on Tuesday. The campground will be reopened once the waters recede.

Flood alerts are active for Noblesville‘s White River and also for areas close to the Nora neighborhood in Indianapolis (Indiana), the National Weather Service says.

The warning for Noblesville remains in force until 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, while advisory for the Nora region is in place until about 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

The weather agency said that the White River was expected to reach a point above the flood stage in Delaware, Madison, Hamilton, Marion, and Morgan counties on Tuesday night.

Indianapolis city officials had notified people on Monday to be aware of the upcoming flooding of low-lying regions in the city.
