Indiana’s Seymour City Board of Zoning Appeals has approved plans for an RV park with 45 sites and 20 cabins, a report said.

Gregg Pardieck and his father Ralph have always planned to develop an RV park. It now becomes a reality as plans proposed by Gregg Pardieck and Todd Storey with Parkland Inc. for an RV park and cabins have been approved.

The park will be on the Chateau de Pique Winery and Brewery property located at 6361 N. County Road 760E.

The plans include 45 RV slips, 20 cabins, two ponds, a bathhouse, a playground, and a gatehouse east of the winery area.

A request for a land-use variance was recommended for approval by the Seymour Plan Commission on September 9 with a 9-1 vote. Dave Eggers voted no, and Jeri Wells did not attend.

The land is zoned R-1 (single-family residential), R-S (single-family residential zoning district), C-1 (neighborhood commercial), and I-1 (light industrial). The variance was sought because C-1 and I-1 do not permit RV parks. However, they may be permitted as conditional use under other zones.

BZA board member Jim Myers said he thinks the RV park would become “a real asset for our community” before the board voted to accept the request for a land-use variance

Storey said he hopes to see construction begin in 2022’s spring. He also hopes for the RV park to be open later in the year.
