At about 8 on Tuesday morning, RV City’s gates will be open for the Florida–Georgia annual game this weekend, a report said.
A total of 100 recreational vehicles were waiting on Bryan Street near TIAA Bank Field on Monday night. However, certain fans gathered at RV City about one week before the annual game to secure the best location for their rigs.
“We came Friday,” said Georgia fan Randy Stone. “We went two years. I think everyone’s anxious to get back.”
A variety of social events (including RV City) were canceled in the past because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The report also mentioned Florida fan Joe Clark who was second in the line for RV City. He arrived on Thursday. Clark said he’s been coming to the games for the past 17 years.
As he waits for the kick-off at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, Clark stated that he will “eat, drink and be merry and hang out” with his bulldog.
For months, parking spaces for RV City have been sold out. According to one of the fans, the tickets were sold out in 45 minutes.
Whatever team they support, both Gators and Bulldogs waiting for RV City to open were eager for the game and the celebrations that followed the match.
“This is like Christmas for us this whole week,” another fan said.
RV City is a temporary motor-home park managed by the city that is jampacked with motorhomes and football enthusiasts. It will return to its prominent site in Lot E near TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Florida for the 2021 game.
