The City of South Lake Tahoe has opened the Campground By The Lake as a refuge for Caldor Fire evacuees, a report said.

The evacuation order for the city has been reduced to allow a small staff to open the campsite for those who are waiting for the evacuation orders to be lifted.

Caldor Fire evacuees will have access to the campground starting Friday, September 10, at 8 a.m. When evacuees arrive, they will receive instructions on how to secure a campsite for free at the Campground Gatehouse.

The campground can be found at 1150 Rufus Allen Boulevard, South Lake Tahoe, Calif.

This offer will end once evacuation orders have been lifted and residents can return to their homes. For more information email: [email protected]
